Professor Rick Rasmussen teaches as an Industry Fellow at UC Berkeley and as an adjunct professor at Northeastern University. He views teaching as a dialogue that can help students find their “lightbulb” moments — making connections with their learning.
A Silicon Valley local, Rasmussen majored in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at UC Berkeley. He then went on to earn a dual Master of Business Administration degree from Columbia Business School and UC Berkeley, with a focus in Finance and Marketing.
Today, he serves as Managing Director for an international strategy advisory firm, Concordia Ventures, which has assisted over 20 governments and economic development agencies worldwide with innovation ecosystem development. Rasmussen also has experience as a keynote speaker, running multiple accelerators, and serving on several international advisory boards. In fact, he is on the board of UNIT.City, the largest innovation center in Ukraine (and Eastern Europe).
Professor Rasmussen has almost 20 years of experience and has conducted several classes around the world, including Kazakhstan, South Korea, and Ukraine, among others. He's shared his passion for entrepreneurship and innovation with students from the junior college level to PhD, and aims to give students the tools they need to generate their own startups.
