Well, to start, I did not have to pay a dime out of pocket to enroll in the program. The financial aid specialist did an amazing job with the financial aid packaging. I did not have to take out any loans or anything like that. I won’t have any debt coming out of this degree program! And I think that is really fantastic. I have a lot of debt on my plate to begin with, and I don’t need to add to it. I love that.
Second, it turns out that, somehow, an online program is a lot less stressful for me, even though a lot of people in my life have told me online can be a lot of stress because you're supposed to be even more self-disciplined and self-motivated.
But for me, it’s just much less stressful being in the online college scene. I don’t have to worry about finding transportation to and from classes. I really love art – painting, drawing, fashion design, sculpting – I feel like I can stay home and work on projects like this. Also, I found a goal that I really want to work towards and this degree program is going to help me get there, so there’s a lot of motivation there as well.
Finally, it’s really nice to be able to attend classes and submit my assignments on the Campuswire platform. It’s all just one platform, so I don’t have to go back and forth between Google Classroom or Zoom or other outside sites. I like the convenience of that.

What really surprised me was how invested the professors are. All of the professors are awesome. I’ve never had this many great professors all at one time.
They’re all eager to teach us. They all love their jobs, they all love what they teach, and they all want us to succeed. And they’re all comfortable teaching to everyone. I’ve had professors who will favor the top 10% in their class and only teach to them. I like how these professors are teaching to everyone’s learning style.
For example, in my third quarter, I took political science with Professor Kelts. It was honestly amazing because he also teaches at Princeton. It makes me feel like I have the chance to go to Princeton or any ivy league school after transferring from Campus.
Because even at the level that he teaches, he makes the content easy to understand, plus he’s very personable. In fact, all of our professors are amazing people and they actually want to get to know us, which is different from other professors I’ve had in larger settings.

I was at DePaul University before and my professors didn’t really reach out to me, even through email. At Campus, they DM you. At first, you might be like, ‘why is this person DMing me?’ But it’s not like they’re trying to be on your back. They’re just trying to make sure that, if you missed class for example, you’re alive and breathing and your mental health is OK! I have so much support!
Even in high school I didn’t have the level of support that I have now. Everybody checks on me and asks ‘Hey, how was class this week?’ and ‘Are you OK? Everything good?’ I appreciate it because it shows that they care. It’s a small community and we all care about each other. It has real family vibes.
