Adam Navarro
M.F.A. in Drama and Acting, California State University, Fullerton, 2009
B.A. in Speech Communication and Rhetoric, California State University, Fullerton, 2005
Adam Navarro is an educator, author, speech coach, and most surprisingly, an award-winning actor. His work, passion, humor, and guidance has inspired thousands of people for over two decades.
Navarro grew up on the island of Guam, where he spent much of his time exploring the jungle and surfing. When he moved to California to be raised by his grandparents, who were both educators, he reached an early turning point in his life. He enrolled in a public speaking class at his college where his professor encouraged him to join the speech team, and he competed for two years, winning national championships in oral interpretation. He went on to earn a scholarship and obtained his MFA in theater arts. A well-skilled actor, Navarro also won the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship twice for his region and once nationally. His stage work earned him leading roles in multiple plays and films.
These days you can find Navarro working as a scholar and activist. He has made it his aim to use his privilege to help students from similar backgrounds, including fellow minorities, first-generation college students, children of immigrants, and those from impoverished or harmful upbringings. He has even helped build numerous nationally successful speech teams and champions. Navarro strongly believes that the Campus mission closely aligns with his own aspirations of supporting students of diverse backgrounds.
