Deniz Baglan is an Associate Professor of Economics at Howard University. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Riverside. Over the last 15 years, Baglan has taught economics courses in various locations worldwide, including the U.S., Turkey, and the Middle East. His research expertise lies in econometrics and macroeconomics, with a particular focus on the applications of nonparametric models in macroeconomics and empirical finance.
Baglan's work has been featured in esteemed journals such as the Journal of Macroeconomics, Studies in Nonlinear Dynamics and Econometrics, Economics Letters, and Emerging Markets Finance and Trade. Beyond academia, Baglan finds solace and focus on the basketball court and enjoys extended vacations, exploring new destinations with his family. He is a devoted supporter of the soccer club Arsenal and an enthusiastic follower of the NBA team, the Boston Celtics.
