Why I Chose Campus

Why I Chose Campus

For a long time, college never really felt like something meant for me. By the time I reached my twenties, I was struggling and trying to figure out what direction I wanted my life to go in. I didn’t have a degree, and for years I never fully trusted in my own strengths or abilities. Eventually, though, I realized that if I wanted a better future for myself and wanted to achieve my dream of opening my own business someday, I needed to take a step forward and pursue college.

When I started looking into schools, I wasn’t searching for perfection. I was looking for understanding professors, a supportive community, and the chance to make meaningful friendships while improving my life. What made Campus stand out to me was honestly the advertisements. They weren’t flashy or unrealistic, and they weren’t making huge promises about guaranteed success. I remember seeing an ad where a college student answered the door and received a glowing Campus package while talking about the opportunities the school offered. It felt genuine and simple instead of overly polished, and that made me trust it more because it didn’t seem “too good to be true.”

One of the biggest reasons I chose an online learning environment was because it matched the way I learn best and gave me the flexibility and support I needed to succeed. Traditional classrooms were never easy for me, and I almost failed high school because of those struggles. Even though college felt intimidating, I knew that if I wanted to succeed and earn my degree, I needed to find an environment that worked better for the way I learn. Online learning gave me that opportunity and made college feel possible for me in a way traditional classrooms never really did.

A specific moment that made me feel confident in my decision to enroll at Campus happened during my first week of school in my Introduction to English class. My professor was open about their own learning differences, and seeing an instructor who experienced the world differently instantly made me feel more comfortable and less alone. It solidified that Campus was the right choice for me because everyone here comes from different backgrounds and faces different struggles, but we still understand and support each other. I always say that we’re all in the same boat, just in different waters.

Another experience that really helped me grow was in my Business Management class during my first group project. I was elected as the leader of the group, and together we earned an A on the project. Before that, I didn’t have much leadership experience, so stepping into that role pushed me outside of my comfort zone. It made me a stronger leader, a stronger student, and honestly a stronger person overall because it helped me realize I was capable of more than I thought.

Choosing Campus ended up being more than just enrolling in college. It became the first real step toward believing in myself and building the future I want.
