Dr. Beth Laux brings over 25 years of higher education experience to the Campus community, blending private-sector leadership with deep expertise in international education. As a former Dean, she oversaw the academic, administrative, and financial operations of global campuses, guiding universities through major organizational change. Her background includes experience with traditional and non-traditional programs, as well as strategic planning in diverse cultural and geographic contexts.
Dr. Laux is deeply committed to the social sciences and humanities, with special focus on political science and critical thinking. She believes these fields offer essential tools for understanding institutions, evaluating information, and engaging thoughtfully with complex issues. Her teaching highlights civil discourse, evidence-based reasoning, and linking concepts to real-world situations.
Dr. Laux holds a doctorate in curriculum, teaching, learning, and leadership from Northeastern University, a master's in public administration from the University of Toledo, and a bachelor's in Spanish and political science from Aquinas College. She is a certified professional coach and project manager. Her teaching draws on practical experience, reflective practice, and a commitment to helping students gain relevant skills for a complex world. She is an avid gardener who reads 2-3 books per week!
