Edward Salvato, also known as “the world's leading LGBTQ global travel expert,” has worked in LGBTQ tourism and hospitality in every capacity imaginable: marketing, communications, public relations, sensitivity and sales training, and more.
Salvato loves to help his clients in tourism and hospitality understand; authentically market to; and confidently serve the lucrative LGBTQ travel segment. His experience includes designing and launching successful marketing, PR and social media campaigns for hotels, airlines, and destinations. He was the chief content office of ManAboutWorld, the world's first gay travel magazine built exclusively for mobile devices from 2012-2020. Before that, for four years, he was editor-in-chief of The Out Traveler, a quarterly travel magazine considered the “gay Condé Nast Traveler.” He also served as the editorial director of The Out Traveler's guidebooks and editor-in-chief of Out & About for five years. If that's not enough, he co-authored the definitive industry book: the Handbook of LGBT Tourism & Hospitality Marketing: A Guide for Business Practice (published by Harrington Park Press and distributed by Columbia University Press in 2017).
Salvato is currently an adjunct instructor at the NYU School of Tourism and Hospitality teaching customer relationship management and other classes since 2018 and a marketing professor at the University of Texas at Austin. In his free time, he loves to travel (of course), watch tennis, and bike around Manhattan (he bikes 20 miles every day!).
