Valerie is a committed career coach with extensive experience helping students unlock their potential and achieve their dreams. Her innovative coaching combines her knowledge of career theory with her belief in personal leadership, ensuring students leave with a plan and the confidence to execute it. She has worked for Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, Temple University, and the University of Maryland. She is a leader in workforce development and Chairs the Massachusetts Workforce Development Association. She is also a leader with the Metro North Regional Employment Board.
She has a master's degree in education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and worked two jobs while attending the program. Her graduate assistantship was with the Career Services Office, and she worked at the Clinique counter at the local mall.
If Valerie weren't guiding students to success, you might find her inspiring transformations like Jillian Michaels on "Biggest Loser" or helping revamp wardrobes and confidence like Stacy London on "What Not to Wear." Her current favorite show is "Queer Eye," and she is an avid tennis player and new bowler.
An activity that lets my mind escape into unknown territory. For instance, trail running - no screens, no one calling my attention. It allows my mind to wander and create opportunities for growth.
